The market and summer fruit.

Went to Byward Market with a friend, they had three containers of cherries/raspberries/blueberries/strawberries for $5. From someone's backyard/garden/farm.
My friend and I bought cherries and strawberries.

I'm actually really loving Ottawa, yesterday I went for a bike ride on the canal and ended up on Preston St. I didn't know but it had transformed from a completely under construction road (last summer) to Little Italy! There were Ferrari's lined up along the road, people on patios and up along the street, the smell of oregano and cigars, and little italian bambinos (is that right?). It was very exciting, it is going on until tomorrow night.

How's the local fruit in your city/town?

FINALLY, I can blog.

So the site hasn't been allowing me to blog for some reason. BUT here's what's been going down lately.

1) No stress fracture, it's just muscle tears that need rest and ice.

2) I bought running shorts from the running room, I'm pretty motivated now, I just got to wait for this dumb pain to dissipate. Did I mention they are hot pink.

3) I haven't had a single salad all weekend, I came back to Toronto, and I've been having a ton of fruit but also bread. How do I describe the difference in how I feel..? It sucks, digestion is all messed up, and pretty much I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait to leave Toronto to get back in the groove of things.

4) When making smoothies, if you add more mangos, less water, you WILL get a yogurt like consistency, slash pudding, it is AMAZING.

5) I hope all of you are eating your salads, and green smoothies. IF NOT, get on it! Today's Monday, the week is new and fresh, make a goal for yourself. If you find yourself in out of control behaviour the solution to the problem does NOT lie in adding rules and guidelines, and boundaries. It is your heart, so change how you think, and how you feel and where your motivation lies, and you'll find yourself easily liking the journey you're on!

Stress Fracture

Has anyone ever had a stress fracture before? I believe I have one, and it's frustrating because I won't be able to get an x-ray soon. Either way, what have you done or know to do if this is the case?

THANKS.

tea partay.

Have said this before, but tea is so important. Make it a nightly/daily ritual, enjoy it alone or with a friend. It actually HALTS cravings in their tracks, and actually allows for relaxation before bed. Drinking peppermint tea with a friend now. I'm so content I could let out a purr or something.

What's your favourite flavaa flav?
(mine's chai-anything)

DO NOT google the word teabag..just got intensely surprised by various images.

Leave Days aka. fruit mania.

I was able to return to my homeland this weekend. Honestly, everytime I go somewhere other than Toronto I come back with a renewed sense of pride for my little cultural melting pot of a city.

I'm excited to mention that this was the weekend of mangos. dragonfruit, and pineapple slices! Obviously cafs don't provide those fruits. You usually see orange slices, grapefruits, bananas, watermelon slices, and honey dew or cantaloupe. That's still a good variety but doesn't include my all time faves. Persimmons, Mangos, Papaya, and lychee.

I took a walk to chinatown with a friend, and we stocked up on their sweet deals, 5 mangoes for $5 anyone? Tell me what's so great about your city, and where can you find those great hidden deals. Also, Props to anyone who can tell me where the mango quote is from (underneath the picture)!

L-salad with black bean tofu something, tabouleh, honey dew slices
D-salad with black bean tofu something, a spoon of cuban rice, honey dew slices
S-walnuts, cranberries, one vegan snickerdoodle (very cute soft cookies from the Enjoy Life)

No bread so far, i feel great, almost lighter, in terms of digestion.
