tropical fruit testing exhibit A.

I'm going to post about tropical fruits, whenever I get a chance to try them. I saw guanabana the other day while walking through chinatown. I got so excited, because this fruit reminds me of Cuba. While in Cuba almost everyday I'd have a chance to taste wild fruit, this was one of them. The fruit tastes sweet, but zingy, almost like the crackle candy you buy that pops in your mouth. You don't eat the seeds, but the surrounding white flesh of the fruit is to die for. It's like smooth cream that is shaped like curved pockets, just packed in together beautifully. The other name for this fruit is soursop. If you get a chance to try it, do so! Also, if you can do it while listening to M.I.A's song Bamboo Banga, I guarantee it will enhance your eating experience.

"Ya, I'm bored of ba-na-na, want gua-na-banaaa"

  1. Wow, I've never heard of a guanabana! It sounds so exotic. Does it taste like any other fruit?

  2. a fruit you should try is the Cherimoya. It has a creamy, creamy flesh and is not sickeningly sweet, but the fact that it's so creamy and sweet but has NO dairy or any real cream additives is remarkable because when you eat it you think you are doing something wrong, or disobeying your diet rules. But it is really good and is very similar to guanabana. If you can find it give it a go!

  3. Ooh! Fun! I wonder if my local Asian market carries this. Anyway, I'll definitely give it a try if I come across it in my travels.
